Outdoor space is adequate and proximity to Lake Michigan is fairly decent....although there is ABSOLUTELY nothing to do or see on the 'beaches' here in June-August. The rest of the time you will be paying the absolute highest property taxes..YES, the absolute HIGHEST property taxes in the entire United States of America. Why you might ask? Because the tax assessors value your home at 100%+ of what THEY consider to be market value and then apply a 2% tare rate to it. There are homes in Malibu Beach and Newport Beach CA that are worth 3x what my home is worth and pay less taxes. So, why would anyone with a right mind want to live here? Do you like TONS of fast food restaurants? Do you love big box stores like Walmart, Sams Club, Costco, Menards, Lowes, etc.? Do you like a place with ABSOLUTELY NO decent dining options outside of Chili's and Cheddars? Do you love 7 months of soul rattling cold? Do you like a place with absolutely NOTHING to do at night other than go to a movie theater or a bar? If you answered "YES" to all of these questions, then congratulations!! This is the town/village/whatever for you!!
